Mrs Donna “Cat
Whisperer Extraordinaire” Cox
One day my little boy wanted a cat,
So, I said to my husband, what about that?
At first he said no cause we’re like a zoo,
So, I said, but Hal likes cats too!
So, I set off on a very long mission,
Of course with his kind permission.
We travelled the whole World Wide Web,
And found Donna who we’d ring instead.
Well, an Angel had landed, and we were astounded,
The knowledge and love flew on the wings of a dove.
From that day forward we’ve never looked back,
When we get together we have such a good crack!
Now this lady is special and this lady is smart,
She is a tiny bubbly woman with a genuine heart.
Now, I tell you our story for one simple reason,
She’s like a bird in flight in the brightest season.
There ain’t no other can beat her,
You’ve all got to meet her.
‘Mrs Pixiebob UK’ is her name so we say,
We’ll never forget oh that very special day.
We drove down five or six hours,
I should’ve taken flowers!
My Pixiebob awaited me, such a bundle of joy,
My kids had to learn he wasn’t a toy.
I knew exactly which was mine,
Donna sent photos all the time.
Donna’s aura was glowing, her love clearly showing,
For these kittens she bread, loved oh and fed.
From that day forth, we’ve got more and more,
There are cats and kittens all over my floor.
Our cattery name is ‘Dantes’ it is totally sound,
Naturally purrfect, well that’s what we’ve found.
So Thank You Donna for your knowledge and wealth,
And may you live the rest of you life, with excellent Health!
All our love
Jane and Mark

Rufus is absolutely fantastic! I’m sure everyone thinks they have
the best, most beautiful pixie bob but Rufus really is turning into
a stunning cat, both in personality and in looks. Everyone agrees
who meets him, he is particularly clever cat. You can’t fool him
with any old game – it has to be novel and interesting! He goes
crazy for anything shiny, light-weight and spherical – he still
loves the shiny ball you gave us though I confess it has very little
shine left. Another striking thing about him is how friendly he is
to all he meets. Most cats play strange with new humans and aren’t
keen to be touched in certain places – they might be a bit head shy
or not be too keen to have a paw touched. But Rufus welcomes any
kind of attention and particularly likes his paws stroked! Sappy, I
know, but I love to pick Rufus up and hold in my arms like a baby –
I’ve never known a cat that would relax like that but Rufus just
goes limp and closes his eyes. He also sleeps on his back with his
back legs spread eagle and his front legs over his face – absolutely
gorgeous! On cold nights he likes to come under the covers and
snuggle up, purring madly all the time.
I’m not sure if Rufus thinks he is a human or that we are cats!
Every evening he makes his best attempt to comb and clean my hair
and face which is so very cute. And if he feels I’m not paying quite
enough attention to him he will sit on my chest, look me in the eye,
and put a paw on my cheek – so very gently. He is a very studious
cat as well, who likes to sit on my lap as I am typing away or
surfing the web. Sometimes he feels he can’t see well enough so he
very gently removes my glasses though he hasn’t worked out yet how
to put them on.
Peter is still working on the extension and Rufus is a very able
assistant. He doesn’t do much to help but he will sit by Peter for
hours watching him working while keeping out of the way. His new
favourite place to play is in the bath tub that arrived last week!
Without fail, Rufus’s favourite pastime is his ‘walks’ in the back
garden. He has no great interest in running around or playing fetch
as he would indoors. He just wants to watch the many birds that
frequent our back yard. Watching from the window is one thing but
actually being outside is so much better. He tries to be very
patient when we are putting on his harness – he is getting better –
but the minute he has it on he is very well behaved!
Rufus is such a great addition to our family! Thank you Donna, for
raising such a loving and interactive cat. When I first contacted
you I told you I wanted a cat that actually felt some attachment to
his human carer’s, not an animal that was only interested in you if
you were about to feed it! I feel we have definitely got that with
Rufus.
Many, many thanks, Peter, Sarah and Rufus

Hi Donna,
Thank you very much for the advice you gave me yesterday. This
morning Coffee took the likes of one of the new tray and did her
thing in there. I was so relieved. She knows what she has been doing
because as soon as she finished she came to me for a well deserved
cuddle. She still can't cover it up, but Coco does it for her. It's
a total team effort.
I have to say that you have been a star all the way and I have to
thank you very much for the whole experience of becoming owner of
two much loved pixie bobs.
Initially it was very hard convincing Simon that owning a kitten
would not have benn too much trouble, and certainly I would have
done all the hard work and all it was for him was the fun and the
playing around (I have kept to this promise so far). I had cats all
my life until I moved out of my family home. Since we bought a place
with a garden, I could not rest until we had a cat too. Simon never
had any pets and just did not see the point. I had to find a cat
that was so irresistible that he had to say yes. After weeks on the
internet, I came across the pixie bobs and your website. The photos
of Solo made the trick for Simon and after I show them to him, his
answer was, ok How much?
Since then it has been the longest weeks of my life....until the
babies came home. On advice from Donna, we decided to go for two
kittens and I think it has been a really wise choice. As we are both
full time workers, a kitten would have been on its own most of the
day, left to eat and sleep until we were home in the evening. Coco
and Coffee are so happy together and they cuddle each other a lot of
the times. Sometimes they purr when they are falling asleep
together. Coco is very protective of Coffee and Coffee does not do
anything until it has been tried and tested by her sister first.
They have such distinct personalities, I did not expect. When I
cuddle Coffee, Coco is very jealous. She goes in a different room to
try to attract the attention and if you don't follow her she comes
back meowing for some cuddles. They share their toys fairly and they
love to play together with the ball, until it gets stuck somewhere
and they come to mummy for help. I am now always telling anyone
thinking of getting a kitten, to try to get two if they have the
opportunity, as you just can't describe how happy they are together
and they will be just a pleasure to see them growing older together.
I am so happy to have them around they are just so sweet. I would
not have expected them to create such a strong bond with the new
family after only a few days. Every morning Coco comes in the bed
and sits next to me waiting for me to wake up. If I don't, she
starts licking my fingers and failing that she touches my face with
her little paws. Once I wake up she is a non-stop purring machine.
This is definitely thanks to how well socialised they are and to how
much love they have been given by you and Bryan in their first weeks
of their lives.
Again thank you very much for all you have done for us and wouldn't
have any problems in recommending Alsoomse pixie bobs over and over
again.
Lots of Love
Chiara, Simon, Coco and Coffee

Hi Donna, How are you?
Here in Madrid everything is OK about all the family, and I say ALL
the family!, because Blyton is another member of this home.
His adaptation period has been very short, about two or three days.
Blyton know the house like if he has been living with us all the
lifetime.
I came to realize he is perfectly educated: he always utilize his
"WC", never scratch anything else except his back scratcher (I don´t
know if it is the correct name)...
Really Blyton is a very nice, lovely and cleaver cat. And he is only
five months old! Looks like he always know what to do in every
situation. I´ve prove he comport oneself more like a dog than a cat,
but at the time he keep all the personality and characteristics of a
feline. Immediately you can realize he is a special cat: he is VERY
cleaver, quiet, affectionate... in a nutshell he is an indispensable
cat. I think he is the best mascot you can dream. And, at last, I´m
sure that much of these attribute are produced by his breed and his
firsts experiences with the human world: that is to say Donna or
Alsoomse. Perfect!
Donna, you really know "very much" about how breed a: wonderful and
lovely and intelligent and clean and a lot of compliments... little
known cats breed.
I´m sure in future "everybody" will need a Pixie Bob from ALSOOMSE
in his life.
Thank you very much on behalf of this Spanish family. Kisses

Looking for a kitten was a daunting task for a family whose pets
consisted of a Goldfish! Once we decided that we wanted a kitten the
next task was to investigate the vast range of personalities and
types. We spent a few weeks looking at different breeder’s websites,
when then we came across Alsoomse Pixie Bob, and the PixieBob breed.
Like most, we had never heard of the breed, but once we finished
reading about their loving and intelligent personality - we
instantly knew this was the cat for us.
We contacted Donna immediately to enquire about owning a PixieBob
and from that moment Donna has been there at the end of the phone to
offer some well needed advice and guidance.
We're convinced that the friendly and loving personality of Phoenix
is due to the love and attention Phoenix received while still in the
care of Donna. We would most definitely recommend an Alsoomse
PixieBob to any family looking for an intelligent and loving pet.
As they say the rest is history..... But that's not to say that
Phoenix (our kitten) isn't everything and more that we could ever
imagined.
Simi and Chris Connelly
P S We have created a little web-page with some photos of Phoenix,
please feel free to have a look - he has certainly grown and we're
sure he's the most handsome kitten ever! If you click on the
thumbnails the pictures open up.

Alsoomse Pixie Bobs are fab!!!
We bought our 1st pixie bob from Donna in July and haven’t looked
back! In fact we now own 5 and 4 of which were bought from Donna! We
received a first class service from Donna who clearly adores her
cats. They are a perfect bundle of joy, fun, love and intelligence
and an absolute credit to her outstanding breeding program. And oh
boy do they mean business!!!
We had never owned a cat always dogs but my son wanted one so being
the doting parents (not) we agreed to get him a cat. Not just any
old cat but one with street cred. You know the one that makes the
ladies go, “Wow what is that?” !!! Well we have found all of that
and much, much more.
Donna spent hours talking to us about Pixie Bobs, night after night.
To the point that we were so impressed that we wanted to start
breeding as well, to promote the standard of this beautiful breed of
cat. So off we trundled on a 6-hour car journey from Middlesbrough
to Somerset!
Our boy "Spirit Sakima" which we bought from Donna is amazing. He
makes us laugh so much and after all isn’t that what life should be
about. We were amazed when he first jumped into the bath! They are
natural swimmers. We now have to keep the door closed when bathing.
He fetches toys to us like a dog and pesters until, we throw them
for him time and time again. He does like to groom your hair, which
I believe is a wonderful sign of affection. My 3 and 5 year old boys
adore him and rag him all over, they are real good pals. For us
though it’s the sheer beauty, the affection and the laughs and
always will be. We adore these cats and now have a wonderful
relationship with a rather amazing lady – Thank you Donna x

We are a family up in the north east of Scotland. We came by the
pixie bob breed purely by accident on the web, having decided to go
ahead and start breeding, we came across Donna’s fantastic site. We
could see she had such a great response from previous buyers, her
professionalism and friendliness reassured us that we wanted to buy
our breeding queen from her excellent bloodlines of this breed.
“DIGIT”, - as you can guess is a polyfoot – she has such a beautiful
dainty face, great nature and very much part of the family. We would
not hesitate to buy a pixie bob from Donna again.
Thank you for you fantastic service and support now and for the
future, greatly appreciated.

As a 'young' couple Louise and I had recently bought our first house
and were looking to start our family..... Initially with cats!
We definitely wanted a pedigree and so spent time looking at various
breeds and their different temperaments on the internet.
Fortunately, we found the Pixie Bob with their fantastic wild looks,
large stature and unusual temperament. The more we read about the
breed the more we were sure it was the one for us. We discovered the
Alsoomse website and after reading Donna's goals and looking at the
all of the fantastic photos of the kittens and seeing the big photo
of Rain Dance we were sold!
Once we had agreed with Donna that we could give one of her kittens
a loving home, she kept us up to date on our little mans progress
and sent photos which is great as you feel involved.
When we finally picked him up, we already had a little moggy kitten,
Poppy, who had been with us for a week, she didn't take kindly to
him at first playing with her toys and she growled and hissed at him
almost constantly. 'Ivan' was incredibly patient with her and
settled in giving her space, within a couple of days they were the
best of friends. It is very difficult to explain how wonderful he
is. He provides us with constant amusement and happiness! He is full
of fun, he loves playing fetch with a paper ball, chasing Poppy
around the garden and watching birds from the tree (while furiously
waging his tail). He waits outside our bedroom door every morning so
he can get into bed with us, and will be waiting at the door when we
get home so he can be hugged and often likes to curl up and sleep on
Louise for a long time.
The nature and temperament of Donna's Pixie Bobs is down to her
passion and love for this amazing breed. I would definitely
recommend Alsoomse Pixie Bobs to anyone wanting a beautiful, loving
cat. Ivan is definite proof that Donna is achieving her goals in
breeding the perfect Pixie Bob.

We first heard about Pixie Bob cats through a friend, and as we have
never had a cat before we thought that their personality and
character would suit our family. After visiting our friends Pixie
Bob kitten our children were smitten - and so was I !! After some
intense research on the internet we decided that we really did want
to get one, and after a phone call to Donna we decided that she was
the breeder for us !
Donna has been absolutely fantastic to us. She kept us up to date on
our kitten's first few weeks with regular pictures and e-mails,
which was great for us as we could see him growing up. She never
minded us calling her up with silly questions, and always had time
to talk. She really cares about her babies, which really shows in
their temperament and personality.
Our new cat is just fantastic. He's so laid back and placid, a real
purr machine, happy to play and happy to nod off on your lap when
he's worn himself out chasing balls and toys. Everyone comments on
his striking looks and laid back personality, and how beautiful and
unusual his markings are. He's such a great a cat who has already
formed a strong bond with our family.

We chose a Pixie Bob because of their reputation as an affectionate,
intelligent breed, and we chose Alsoomse based on a personal
recommendation. We are delighted with both choices!
Our kitten is absolutely gorgeous – very lively, very friendly and
lots of fun! He likes to show off, loves it when we play with him
and his toys, and once he’s exhausted (usually about two hours after
we are!) he curls up on our laps and purrs contentedly. When he
first arrived back home with us we couldn’t resist taking lots of
photographs, but we quickly realised that every second is another
photo-opportunity with these beautiful cats, so we really had to
pause for breath and just enjoy him.
The service from Donna went far beyond what we expected. From the
first contact, she has given us good advice, which we needed, as
first-time cat owners. Once we had selected our kitten, Donna kept
us updated about his progress with regular emails and photographs,
and when we arrived to collect him we were presented with a kitten
that was not only house-trained and micro-chipped, but had also been
given trips to the vet “Just for the ride” when his brothers or
sisters had to go, which meant he was already used to car journeys
and surgeries.
A truly professional service from someone who clearly loves every
single one of the beautiful kittens she breeds. Thanks Donna!

We recently lost our cat of 16 years and decided we would like
something a little different this time. Our daughter began looking
on the internet and came across a breed called "pixiebob". None of
us had ever heard of the breed but the more we read the more we
decided this was the cat for us. Having had a small female cat for
many years we liked the idea of a big tom cat, and my husband, being
a dog lover, liked the idea of a cat that we could maybe train to do
tricks.
After contacting Donna we secured our kitten and then the fun began.
Donna email us every few days with pictures and video footage of
Charlie, the children just couldnt wait to get in from school to see
what he had been up to and check on his progress.
After 12 long weeks we made the long journey from Newcastle to
Somerset to collect him. We had been a little apprehensive about how
he would cope with the journey home but we need not have worried as
Donna had taken him out in the car on several occasions to get him
used to it. He spent most of the journey home around our sons neck
asleep and the rest of the trip just sat on the back seat with our
daughter completley relaxed. He settled in straight away and within
a couple of days had taken over the house. We wanted a "people cat"
and were certainly not disappointed. He just loves to be in company
and keeps us all entertained with his tricks and constant playing.
After a week we decided it was time to venture out with his harness.
He was a little nervous for his first time but within a day he had
decided that outside was where he wanted to be. My husband brought
him back in and popped his lead on the table. Charlie stood at the
door crying to get back out then promptly jumped on the table picked
his lead up and took it to the door - how could we say no. He is so
funny and loves to jump on my back while I'm cleaning the kitchen
floor and savages the floor cloth.
We cant thank Donna enough for the beautiful kitten we have got. He
has such a big personality and has brought something back to our
house that was missing after our cat had died.
He is just really different from your usual cat. The cat that thinks
he is a dog would probably be a good description of him. His
favourite toy at the minute is a metal jar lid which he picks up in
his mouth, takes up the stairs and drops down on to the tiled floor
at the bottom, not your usual cat games. He loves to play peek a boo
with anyone who is willing. Our daughter plays it with him from
behind her lap top and he charges down the room, hurtles over the
lap top and lands on her and gives her a pat. Once again Donna,
thank you for our beautiful boy.

After a lot of research into the unique Pixiebob breed on the
internet; we decided this was definitely the breed for us; so off we
went on our search for the ideal breeder. Again after many hours of
researching across the UK and Europe, we came to the conclusion that
Alsoomse Pixie Bobs would be our preferred breeder and we made
contact with Donna Cox.
When the litter arrived we were all very excited and keen to see
what was available. Donna began to send us lots of photographs which
were all so cute. Initially it was very difficult to tell our kitten
from the other boys in the litter, but as the weeks passed we could
start to see the differences appear and we began to identify our one
in the group photos.
At the appropriate time in the kittens development, Donna allowed us
to visit the kittens at her home with our children to view our
kitten for the first time. Well, we all had a great trip/visit and
we absolutely loved the Pixie Bob kittens. After a further
discussion with Donna she kindly allowed us to purchase a second
kitten out of the same litter.
We then had to wait for the day that we could collect them, as
you'll find out this is the toughest part waiting, however Donna is
very good; she constantly sent us photo's for the children to see
their kitten develop. I say kitten because we hadn't told our
children that we were going to get two kittens. We thought it would
a nice surprise for them when we came home with two Pixie Bob
kittens rather than just the one - and yes it was a huge surprise!
The kitten's are completely settled into their new home now. Like
every kitten they have their boysterous moments and when they're
done with all that running around and playing with all their toys,
they are very tactile and love to smuggle into Pauline, the children
or myself, for abit of attention or a snooze.
One of the best things I like, is the fact that it's nice to be a
little different than everyone else and own two very unique kittens.
A few of our friends that are big cat enthusiasts knew very little
about the Pixie Bob breed, because Pixie Bobs are still very rare in
this country.
Thanks Donna, I'm sure we'll have hours/years of fun with the boys!
Kind regards
Alistair, Pauline, Calum, Phoebe and not to forget the boys (Max &
Rocky!)

Dear Donna,
Having to wait 8 months for anything is hard, waiting for 8 months
for a kitten seems preposterous! Tehya (Tay) however, would be worth
waiting 8 years for!
I have brought home with me not just a beautiful looking cat, but a
cat that truly is one in a million. The Pixie-Bobs is known to be
gentle, loving and ‘dog-like’. This little one is no exception. I
have had a cat or 2 for the past 20 or so years and out of all of
them she is the most out going and intelligent cat I have ever had
the pleasure of meeting. I don’t put this just down to the breed,
but to the breeder.
Your wonderful personality and loving ways of your family have
definitely rubbed off on your kittens, as it shows in their
temperament. Most kittens/cats take at least a week to settle into a
new home, Tehya owned ours in less than 3 days! They are definitely
Alsoomse (independent) kittens, but they are not aloof, as they are
the most loving of all cats.
I have attached a picture so you can see how she has doubled in size
in the last 2 weeks.
I can not wait for her sister in December!
Thank you again for breeding my baby girl (s).

Donna,
I began the research into Pixie Bobs as a breed about 12 months ago,
yet nothing could have prepared me for the actual experience of
owning one.
Not only are the Pixie Bobs a beautiful looking cat, they are
totally unique in their personality. Yes, they are known to
be gentle, loving and ‘dog-like’, Cochise is certainly no exception.
He is quite possibly the most out going and intelligent cat I have
ever had and after only two weeks has learnt how to play fetch –
just like a dog. Cochise also has the most affectionate nature and
often lies in my arms like a baby to have his belly tickled – this
is a testimony to the breeder Donna Cox. A lot of care and attention
was put into to ensuring that they all her cats not only have a
wonderful temperament and that they were fit, well and ready to go
to their new homes!
Donna has put so much time into each of her babies that she knows
each of their personality traits by the time they collected so was
able to give me and others as much information to help each one
settle into their new family home – something that Cochise has had
no problem in doing.
I have to thank you once again for my beautiful, little cat and
would recommend Alsoomse time and time again. This is the first time
that I have owned a pedigree cat and Donna, you made the experience
so personal, it was like picking up a family member when I collected
Cochise!!

About a year ago we decided we would like to get a cat. Both of us
have had cats before but we fancied having something different. So
we began looking on the internet and came across the Pixie Bob. We
instantly fell in love with their wonderful looks. Then we found
Donna’s website and I rang her up to find out more. Her enthusiasm
was infectious, we especially liked the idea that these cats were
“dog like”. So I sent off my deposit.
We waited a long time for our little boy to be born but he was well
worth the wait! Donna sent us photos of him as he was growing up and
we got all excited every time we received them!
On the day we collected him we drove all the way from the Midlands
and finally got to meet him. He looked even more adorable than his
photo. He was everything Donna said he would be. He is absolutely
gorgeous and we love him to bits!
He is VERY loving and adores his cuddles and took less than a week
to settle in with us. Donna said that he would bond with his human
family and that is certainly very true! He likes to know where we
are and “asks” for cuddles, he has even started giving us high
fives, as Donna taught him to! He plays nicely with my 12 year old
son. My partner has had lots of cats before but says our Jazz is the
most affectionate he has ever seen. Here is a photo of him that says
it all:
 |
The thing I was most worried about was leaving him alone when we
were at work. Donna said to leave him plenty of toys and he would be
ok. So we do and we leave the radio on and he is perfectly fine.
He has fantastic markings with the wild look about him. Everyone
says how beautiful he is. I would recommend a pixie bob kitten to
anyone who wants a unique addition to their family!

Hey Donna,
Just though I'd let you know how Mo's getting on. We absolutely love
him, he's such a character. He's already the boss of the house, and
bearing in mind we have two dogs the size of small horses, that's
quite an achievement! His favourite pastime at the moment is
catching flies. He tracks them down and wags his behind and then
jumps about a meter in the air and catches them, it's unbelievable!
He's a great companion, he follows us round the house, he loves
company. He likes to sit on our heads and groom us, he gets really
stuck in it's so funny! He loves to play. His favourite toy is a
little fish and every time you throw it he fetches it back to you to
throw again.
He's laying on my lap at the moment purring away while I tickle his
neck. He really is the most adorable cat.
